Swansea 1km Race
The first UK footbike race held under IKSA rules took place at the famous International Swansea Bay 10km road run
on September 21st. the European Champion Hannu Vierikko and well known Dutch ride Cees Bakker entered along with
13 other riders in this 1km sprint. Hannu, of course won by some margin, but competition in the middle order was
fierce! The world record, currently stands at 1min 50.5 sec. The actual course was 1040m and Hannu finished in
1:58 - so not bad! The list of riders and positions is as follows :-

Course & Conditions : Flat tarmac apart from small (50m)
dip with slow uphill to finish.
Actual course distance 1040m, light winds, sunny.
