RACE NEWS & STORIES

Kick in the Park London - Sunday 8th July 2007

To coincide with the Tour de France depart, there will be a Hyde Park festival of cycling, to include two scooter racing events. Races will take place on a closed road 3.5km circuit around the famous Serpentine lake in Hyde Park with thousands of spectators. This is likely to be the biggest sporting event in central London ever seen.

This is a unique opportunity to race in Hyde Park around the Serpentine in central London to show off the skills and talents of scooter racing and be involved in the whole Tour de France build-up..... they expect many thousands of spectators.....! Entry to both races is FREE.

Scooter 7KM RACE – 2 laps of the circuit - 12.40 (30 minutes total)

Scooter 1KM SPRINT – as shown on the race map - 14.50 (15 minutes total) - Triangle Car Park (West Carriage Drive)

Even more amazing, FREE accommodation [indoor camping!] is available on the floor of The Westminster School Boat House Function room at Putney [Westminster School Boathouse, Embankment SW15 1LB] 5 miles west from Westminster along the River Thames – click here to see Google map.

Information:-

Travel to London by air, coach or rail. Meet at the start point of the race at 12.00 Sunday 8th July 2007. Easy to take public transport from airports to central London (no bikes allowed on underground ‘tubes’). Easy to ride from railway stations or Victoria coach station to Hyde Park.
